This information is provided to you to give you a brief update on services and regulations within the City of Mapleton.

Utility Bills from the City of Mapleton include water, sewer, storm sewer, refuse, and recycling. They are sent out quarterly, around the first of January, April, July, and October. Budget payments are available by paying 1/3 of bills by the 15th of each month. City Hall accepts cash or check payments. To pay your bill online, click here.
Refuse pickup is on Thursday. Recycling pickup is every other Thursday. To view the garbage calendar, click here. LJP may be in town as early as 7:00 a.m. and may be in town as late as 5:00 p.m. LJP provides 35-gallon, 64-gallon, or 96-gallon refuse carts and 96-gallon recycling carts free of charge. The quarterly cost to dump them is: $33.81 for the 35-gallon cart, $41.70 for the 64-gallon cart, $45.84 for the 96-gallon cart, and $16.83 for recycling. Contact City Hall if your cans are damaged and need to be replaced.
Compost- curbside pickup is available on the first Monday of each month from April thru November. If you are using the curbside pickup, please have all materials bagged, boxed, or bundled. The compost site is located on the west edge of town on Highway 30 on the north side of the road, just west of the Union Cemetery. Watch for signs. Only garden material, leaves, and tree branches that are 4 inches in diameter or smaller may be taken to the compost facility. There is a separate pile for brush/trees at the back of the compost site. Please do not leave brush/trees on the compost pile.
Dogs must be licensed in Mapleton. The fee for a lifetime license is $36, and you must provide proof of rabies vaccination for each animal. If your dog is microchipped, there is no license fee, but the City will still need proof of rabies vaccination.
Building Permits are necessary for all outside structure changes. For more information about building permits, click here. Please contact City Hall before you begin any project to see if a permit is required.
Sump pumps- all sump pumps shall have a discharge pipe. Permits may be obtained from City Hall to discharge into the sanitary sewer from November 1st to April 1st each year. All other times, sump pumps must not discharge into the sanitary sewer.
Leaf Vacuuming- The City of Mapleton provides leaf vacuuming services every fall. Check the city calendar in October for the schedule.
Snow Emergency- Snow emergencies automatically go into effect as soon as the city has 2 inches of snowfall or more. No parking is allowed on city streets until the streets are plowed curb to curb. Snow Removal- snow must be removed from public sidewalks within 36 hours. The city does its best to send notifications of when the Public Works Department will be cleaning sidewalks, but there is no guarantee notifications will be sent. Sign up to receive city news alerts by clicking here. There is a $50 fee if Public Works cleans your sidewalks.
Weeds- no parcel of land shall have noxious weeds greater than a height of 8 inches. There is a $100 fee if public works mows your lawn.
Junk Motor Vehicle- it is unlawful to park, store, or leave a junk motor vehicle within the city; vehicles must have current license tags and be operational.
Solicitors- it is unlawful for any person without a city license to go door-to-door attempting to sell goods. Please contact the Mapleton Police Department if a solicitor comes to your home without a license. (If unsure of the license, call)
Curfew for children under 18 years of age. Sunday through Thursday, it is 10:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday night, it is 11:00 p.m. Please contact the Mapleton Police Department if you have any questions regarding curfew.
